Interested in projects that are based around sustainability and/or are eco-friendly? Whether you want to build, have built, or are interested in learning about eco-friendly projects, then please join us at the 1st LVL1 ECO group meeting. We hope to see you there!
Game Dev Lou will be participating in it’s first ever Ludum Dare event and second to date Game Jam overall with many more to come!!!
The event will be held here at the LVL1 Hackerspace
Prior to the event please be sure to:
- Create an account on Ludum Dare’s website (Required hash tag for account creation -> #ld48)
- Sign up to our meet up so we can get a head count HERE
There will be two kind of jams going on:
The Competition is the familiar “make a game in 48 hours solo competition” that Ludum Dare is known for. Specific details can be found below. After the competition ends, participants are given 3 weeks to play and rate games created by their peers. After those 3 weeks, winners are announced.
The Jam is the new “relaxed” Ludum Dare. It was created to make Ludum Dare even more inclusive. You can work in a team, borrow assets from your other projects, or do things that would normally be against the rules. You also get one extra day, giving you up to 72 hours to submit an entry. This is helpful for those times real life gets in the way, or for games that need just a bit more time to become something great.
Check out the rules for more info.
Come on down to the space Saturday, November 9th at 4pm we will be doing a LAN party with the game Team Fortress 2, which is now free for download. Please install it before you show up as it will take forever to download at the space. Go to Steampowered.com to download it.
If you don’t want to game, but want to work on your rig, bring it down and work on it.
Also, if you have spare PC parts, bring’m and we’ll put them on the swap table. You might be able to trade for something better, or just sell it (or donate it to someone whose rig is in poor shape).
