Come on down to the space Saturday, November 9th at 4pm we will be doing a LAN party with the game Team Fortress 2, which is now free for download. Please install it before you show up as it will take forever to download at the space. Go to Steampowered.com to download it.

If you don’t want to game, but want to work on your rig, bring it down and work on it.
Also, if you have spare PC parts, bring’m and we’ll put them on the swap table.  You might be able to trade for something better, or just sell it (or donate it to someone whose rig is in poor shape).

LVL1 is proud to be participating in the first Louisville Mini Maker Faire!  Join us and over 50 other makers for a day of FREE, family friendly fun!  We'll be on the 800 Block of East Market from Noon until 6.  After 6, join the crowd at Nulufest, happening on the same day on the 700 block of East Market.

We'll be bringing 3D printers, fire breathing ponies, mental melon blasting devices, and much, much more!  Build a power tool drag racer, and test your mettle against others from around Louisville.

It's going to be a great event. Help show that Louisville is a Maker City by showing up to Louisville's first Mini Maker Faire!

LVL1—your community nonprofit hack space—in partnership with New2Lou—your favorite local social organization—is competing in the National Red Bull Day of Flugtag in Chicago on September 21st as Team New2Flug. Check out the grandeur that is homemade flying contraptions here: at RedBull Flugtag. More importantly, the entire Bluegrass is resting on our “wings” as we are the sole team representing our great state of Kentucky. The plan is to build our own giant Pegasus (the symbol of our greatest sporting event—the Kentucky Derby) complete with a rider and a LVL1-designed wing. This whole thing will get shoved off of a 30-foot runway located on Lake Michigan along the Chicago shoreline with our pilot and wings first doing some gliding and then ending with what we can only hope will be a spectacular crash landing.

So far, we have worked purely with donated material and volunteered engineering and build time. The point is simple: WE NEED YOU!

You have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to help represent YOUR state and YOUR city in a contest that will be simulcast live in front of more than five million people. For more information (and to donate!) check out our crowdfunding video which can be found at Louisville Flugtag on Rocket hub. Also, feel free to come by LVL1 and participate in the building every Monday and Thursday at 6pm.

Thank so much for any and all help and support you can give us.

Rob Bishop from the Pi Foundation

RSVP: http://www.meetup.com/LVL1Hackerspace/events/132132342/

LVL1 is very proud to be hosting Rob Bishop from the Raspberry Pi foundation for a visit to Louisville on August 9th, at 6 PM!

This month, Rob will be traveling through the US, taking a look at all the cool Raspberry Pi projects people are working on, talking about the Pi and the work of the Pi foundation, and doing live demos.  More information about his itinerary is right here: http://www.raspberrypi.org/archives/4312

In case you haven't heard of the Raspberry Pi before: The Raspberry Pi is a $35 credit-card sized computer module running Linux.  With Ethernet and USB outputs, you've got a very nice computer in a very small package.  People have used the Pi on projects as diverse as home entertainment PCs, Carputers, Robots, UAVs, Vending Machines, Access Control Systems, and so much more.

Come on down to LVL1 on August 9th for this completely free event! Bring your Pi and any Pi projects you've been working on! Show off all the cool stuff that you've done with your Pi, or would like to do! Tons of like-minded folks will be hanging around, fawning over Rob. Don't have a Raspberry Pi? No problem! We'll have Pis for sale before, during, and after the event!

If you plan to come out, please RSVP on our Meetup Page: http://www.meetup.com/LVL1Hackerspace/events/132132342/ (Not required, but it helps us gauge interest!)
